Kingyo festival

Last Saturday evening I visited to Nakagawa Kingyo festival. ( http://www.kingyo-matsuri.com/ ) There was near Kanayama and Bitoubashi bridge. It was usual summer festival. Kingyo is a Japanese word of gold fish. I couldn't find any gold fish thing in the festival and asked a question to the festival staff. They said the festival doesn't have any relation with gold fish. Only the title and they have gold fish shape peagent. I was surprised.

Asahi shrine

Last Saturday afternoon I visited to Nagoya Sakae downtown area. There is Asahi shrine near middle of Sakae. A lot of the office building and department stores surrounded that shrine. I found they prepered Chinowa straw ring. It was too early for the event. I had to come at evening. Asahi shrine official site ( http://www.asahi-jinja.com/ )

Summer kimono dress

I made up very unique summer kimono dress for myself. It was women's and polyester and a lot of stain spread damaged cloth. But I was really fascinated that design. At first I splited them off some pieces and washed with bleaching agent. They became wearable condition after 4 times washing. And then I reconstructed them to men's dress for my size. It made up very soon. The size is perfect. The height and sleeve length and waist size are all fit me. It is like be spoke made. I can't wait for going out with this dress.

Nagoya shrine

Nagoya shrine (http://dashi-matsuri.com/dashikan/owari/nagoya/) had summer festival at 15,16 July. The first ceremony was the drum play. Kaito school drum team played on the stage. (http://www.smcnet.co.jp/kaitouryu/yurai/yurai.html). This festival main event was the pageant and children march at 16,July. But at that time,the pageant was naked yet.

Aichi prefectural gymnasium

Last Friday evening I visited to Nagoya shrine (http://dashi-matsuri.com/dashikan/owari/nagoya/) to see evening event. I arrived at there little early for event. There is near Aichi prefectural gymnasium and I arrived about 10 minutes on foot. (http://www.aichi-kentai.com/). Sumo Nagoya tornament is carried out right now. Some Sumo wrestlers walked around outside. The lined up Sumo banners looks great.

Morning glory

Let me show one of my hobby Shibori tied-dyed works. I made up the morning glory pattern Shibori tenugui 2 days ago. I learned it at Arimatsu where the famous Shibori street. (http://www.shibori-kaikan.com/). This time I show some process of Shibori work. I don't draw a picture by myself usually. I picked up a motif from the illustration book. I tried to dyed 2 colour Shibori. It was double work. Sewing and dying red at first. And then sewing and dying navy blue again. I made 3 but 1 failed. Shibori is hard hobby.
